2011 Continental Cup 400 metres hurdles champion, 25 year old Nickiesha Wilson, who has lived outside Jamaica for the past 6 years, is set to return home to live in Jamaica soon, and will reportedly join up with the Racers Track Club upon her arrival in the island.
Wilson’s credits include:
- Bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games
- Gold at the 2009 Central American and Caribbean Games
- Three-time NCAA champion while at Louisiana State University
- Finalist at the 2007 World Championships in Athletics in Osaka, Japan.
Reports indicate that she specifically wanted to join the Racers Track Club, because she wants to work with noted coach Bert Cameron, an individual who she believes has the ability to help get her to the ‘next level’. Notably, she has failed to pass the semi-final stage at the last two World Championships instalments in Berlin, Germany (2009), and in Daegu, South Korea (2011).
She has become the second 400m hurdler to join the Racers Track Club in recent times, after national junior record holder Ristananna Tracey joined their team recently.
