Jamaica Break World Record & Win Gold In 4×100 Metres Relay In Daegu

Jamaica’s quartet of Yohan Blake, Usain Bolt, Nesta Carter and Michael Frater blasted away their competitors to win the men’s 4×100 metres relay gold medal in Daegu, South Korea today. They won the race in a new world record time of 37.04 seconds. The Americans, who had never been beaten in a world championship 4x100m final before this, failed to finish after their third-leg runner Darvis Patton clipped a British athlete and fell over before attempting to pass the baton to their final leg runner, Walter Dix. As a result of this, the British quartet also failed to finish. Complete race details below.

Usain Bolt, Nesta Carter & Yohan Blake Qualify For 2011 World Championships 100M final

Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, Nesta Carter and Yohan Blake all qualified for the final of the men’s 100 metres at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea today. Blake ran 9.95 to win semi-final 1, Carter ran 10.16 to finish second in semi-final 3, while Bolt ran 10.05 to win semi-final 2. Michael Frater also ran in semi-final 2, but finished 6th with a time of 10.23. Full details of all three 100 M semi-final heats detailed below.
