Jamaica Break World Record & Win Gold In 4×100 Metres Relay In Daegu

Jamaica’s quartet of Yohan Blake, Usain Bolt, Nesta Carter and Michael Frater blasted away their competitors to win the men’s 4×100 metres relay gold medal in Daegu, South Korea today. They won the race in a new world record time of 37.04 seconds. The Americans, who had never been beaten in a world championship 4x100m final before this, failed to finish after their third-leg runner Darvis Patton clipped a British athlete and fell over before attempting to pass the baton to their final leg runner, Walter Dix. As a result of this, the British quartet also failed to finish. Complete race details below.

Jamaica Wins Women’s 4×100 Metres Relay Silver Medal In Daegu

Jamaica’s quartet of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Kerron Stewart, Sherone Simpson and 200m champion Veronica Campbell-Brown ran a new national record of 41.70 seconds to place second in the women’s 4×100 metres sprint event at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea. Complete details below.

Kenia Sinclair Finishes 7th In Women’s 800M Finals In Daegu

Jamaican middle distance runner, Kenia Sinclair, fought hard to stay competitive in the women’s 800 metres final at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, earlier today, but was unable to hold off her challengers, and managed a seventh place finish with a time of 1:58.66.
