Jamaican Men Fail To Qualify For 400 Metres Hurdles Finals In Daegu

All the Jamaican men – Josef Robertson, Isa Phillips and Leford Green – failed to qualify for the finals of the 400M hurdles event at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, earlier today. Phillips and Green finished fourth in their heats with times of 49.16 seconds and 49.29  respectively, while Robertson finished last in his heat, with a time of 50.39 seconds. Kaliese Spencer & Melaine Walker Qualify For Women’s 400M World Champs Finals

Kaliese Spencer and Melaine Walker both qualified for the finals (set to happen on September 1) of the women’s 400M finals at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea earlier today. Walker finished second in her heat (time of 54.97 seconds) and qualified automatically, while Spencer finished third in her heat and her time of 55.02 seconds qualified as one of the two best times for 3rd or 4th place in the heats. Ristananna Tracey finished 4th in her heat and did not qualify for the finals with her time of 55.55 seconds. Complete results for the 400M semi-final heats detailed below.

Veronica Campbell Brown Wins 200M Silver Medal In Daegu

Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell Brown delivered another medal for the country, finishing second in 10.97 seconds for the silver medal in the 100M women’s race behind American pre-race favourite Carmelita Jeter at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea earlier today. Defending champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce could only manage fourth place in 10.99 seconds, while Kerron Stewart, a silver medallist in Berlin, finished sixth. Complete race results detailed below.
